Freedom & Fur exists for the ones who’ve been silenced, overlooked, or abandoned — both people and animals. We were born out of the belief that healing isn’t something you do alone. Sometimes the strongest medicine is a soft nose, a wagging tail, or a warm heartbeat reminding you that you matter.
Our mission is simple but fierce:
break the chains of abuse, rebuild trust, and help survivors — human and animal — learn to feel safe again.
We step into the places most people shy away from. The homes where violence echoes. The lives shattered by fear. The animals left behind because someone had to run for their life. We refuse to accept that anyone should have to choose between their own safety and the companionship that helped them survive in the first place.
At Freedom & Fur, we:
• Rescue animals caught in the crossfire of domestic abuse, neglect, abandonment, or crisis
• Support survivors who refuse to leave their pets behind by creating safe options, temporary care, and emergency resources
• Provide foster placement, vet care, food, and emotional support for pets in need
• Create a bridge for people rebuilding their lives — with their animals by their side
• Partner with communities to raise awareness, end stigma, and make sure no family (two-legged or four-legged) falls through the cracks
Every person we help is someone fighting to reclaim their freedom.
Every animal we save is a reminder that loyalty never breaks — even when the world does.
We show up because healing goes both ways.
A survivor learns to breathe again when their pet curls into their lap.
A scared animal learns to trust again when a human chooses kindness.
And together… they rise.

Freedom & Fur helps survivors rebuild the parts of themselves they had to hide just to get through the day. Trauma makes people put up walls, and those walls feel protective… until they start feeling like a prison. We’re here to help break those walls down safely, slowly, and with compassion.
We create a space where victims and their pets can heal together — because the bond between a person and their animal is often the one steady thing they’ve had in a world full of chaos. When both sides learn new coping skills, trust returns. When trust returns, love follows.
